EGTSC v Covid 19

Covid19

Like many other clubs, when Lockdown came in March 2020 East Grinstead Target Shooting Club shut up shop and hunkered down for a few months to wait for the Covid 19 virus to pass. As we now know, this was a little optimistic!

To cope with operating under Covid 19 conditions various changes were made. These consisted of:

Air Range Upgrade 2017

Existing Setup

The existing setup has 4 firing points with two Rika target changers that are about 25 years old and two others that date back to the early 1980's. The other two older units have been repaired on several occasions and the switches are getting dodgy again. We also have to dismantle and reassemble this setup 5 times a year when we use the air range as the marking room for open shoots and as additional space during the Christmas shoot.

Work Party 10 April 2016

Range

The work party got quite a bit done on the range to get it ready for the open shoot.:

  • Cleared leaves from firing point (Elaine Kettle)
  • Trimmed more of the trees down the lefthand side of the range (Andy Meyers, Jim Howard)
  • Cleared ditches (Malcolm Brain)
  • Burnt all the trimmings (blokes!).

So quite a useful work party. Thanks everyone.
